No sand, but the clearest water around — bring goggles and watch the fish among the rocks.

Whether you want to hike, sail, or wander medieval villages, there is plenty within 30 minutes of the house.
A short uphill walk from the village. 360° views over the coast and the inland Empordà plain — go at sunset.
The historic coastal trail. Try the Sa Riera → Sa Tuna stretch (about 1h30) or push on to Aiguablava for a longer day.
A small but lovely weekly market with fresh produce, olives, cheeses, and local crafts.
Two of the best-preserved medieval villages in Catalonia. Cobbled streets, wine bars, and lovely restaurants — perfect for a long lunch.
A protected marine reserve. Glass-bottom boat trips, snorkelling, or diving among groupers and barracudas.
Ancient Greek and Roman ruins on the beach. Combine with lunch in L'Escala (try the anchovies — a local specialty).
A longer outing but worth it: Dalí's whitewashed seaside village and the wild rocky cape at the easternmost point of Spain.

A small local supermarket near the beach for groceries, fresh bread, and morning essentials — the handiest shop for everyday needs.
For everything you forgot to pack: towels, parasols, inflatables, sunscreen, swimwear, and toys for the kids.
Spar and Caprabo in Begur centre, open daily. There's also a smaller fruit shop just off Plaça de la Vila.
Farmàcia in Begur centre, open Mon–Sat. A rotation pharmacy is on duty for nights and Sundays — see the cross sign for the nearest one.
Local clinic (CAP) in Begur for minor issues. Closest hospital: Hospital de Palamós (about 20 minutes away).
Nearest is on the GI-653 road between Begur and Palafrugell — about 5 minutes by car.
Begur uses a door-to-door collection system (recollida porta a porta). Put the right bin out the evening before — the service won't pick up incorrectly sorted waste.
Old furniture, appliances, paint, batteries, electronics, clothes, oils and shoes go to the municipal Deixalleria (Camí de les Pedreres 6, Begur). Mon–Sat 8:30–13:00; Wed & Fri also 14:30–18:00. To request a pickup of furniture or garden waste, call the Environment Department.
